About
Natalie Robertson is a Canadian wildlife photographer based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Although she has had a life-long love and fascination for all wildlife, she has a particularly deep interest - or one can almost call it an obsession - with birds.
A few years ago Natalie picked up a camera to begin documenting the subjects she encounters while hiking and birding and was awakened to how combining art and nature can be a powerful tool for change. She enjoys capturing images of birds and animals in their natural environments to connect the viewer with a sense of place and convey an intimate moment in that animal’s unique life.
Natalie is a strong believer of taking an ethical approach to wildlife photography, and believes the welfare of the subject should always come before the image. She hopes to use her art to tell the incredibly diverse stories of wildlife, plants and their habitats, and inspire others not only to learn more about the importance and worth of these species and places, but to care enough about our natural world to want to save it.
Natalie’s work has been published by Canadian Geographic and Audubon Magazine. She received an Honorable Mention in the “Plants for Birds” category of the 2020 Audubon Photography Awards, and one of her images was chosen as the Top 100 for the 2019 Audubon Photography Awards. Her printed work has been shown in several galleries in Toronto.
Natalie is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, and has been a member of the NANPA Ethics Committee since 2018.
